All turns to Dust

One day the light will drain away,
my soul will belong to the Heavens,
but for now, I'm here, breathing...
sometimes just breathing,
ever present, and not so effervescent.

Today, my heart it wept,
as I suffered with my sorrow,
but it will all turn to dust,
for, we are not promised tomorrow.

The unkind words, the struggles,
that today seem so pressing,
are tomorrow's follies,
so why are we stressing?

Let the tears fall freely,
like rain upon the desert sands,
lead me into a dream,
come and take my hand.

Nothing matters in the end,
but the memories,
woven into the soul of another,
pain is only temporary,
but love is forever.
